Changing Places toilets: an overview
A Changing Places toilet is a larger accessible toilet with equipment for people who can't use a standard accessible WC. Many venues add one in a standalone building.
What's different from an accessible WC
A larger room, a ceiling track hoist, a height-adjustable adult changing bench, a peninsular WC with space either side, and a height-adjustable basin.
Who provides them
Large venues, attractions, parks, sports grounds and shopping centres. Requirements for some new public buildings changed in recent years, so check current guidance.
Standalone modular option
Where there's no space inside an existing building, a standalone modular building can provide the room, often alongside standard toilets.
Getting it right
Our designer checks are advisory only. Each project should be reviewed against the current published guidance with your access consultant before order.
